Join Our Team

Albany Youth Orchestra is a growing and dynamic organization. We are dedicated to youth music education. We provide group classes in traditional orchestra instruments and have recently added piano classes. During the school year, we offer before- and after-school orchestra classes at local public schools and at our own AYO Music Center. We also have a fun summer program with additional classes in a variety of instruments.

We work hard to removing barriers for participation, and are dedicated to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level, both in our student and family partners, and in our instructional and administrative staff.

The safety of our students is of the highest importance to us. All teaching and administrative staff and volunteers are required to pass a background check. Staff and volunteers who work in the schools will also need to pass the GAPS volunteer background check. Other partner organizations may also ask for additional background checks.
